Why Nashville Nutrition?
We utilize a whole-food-based approach, emphasizing nutrient timing and meal planning strategies. This is not a diet; it is a lifestyle. Our program can improve the habits of individuals who subscribe to any dietary preference from vegan to carnivore and everything in between. We work to create plans that build good habits and overcome obstacles so our customers can become competent and confident in their approach to their own health. It is important to understand the foundation and fundamentals of nutrition for life-long success. We strive to avoid the “yo-yo dieting” by educating our clients to take control of their dietary habits and behaviors so they can maintain long term success and carry their knowledge with them when they leave the program.
What to Expect
Our program starts off with an initial consultation which typically takes approximately 40 minutes. This can be done in person or remotely over the phone. We will conduct a body composition analysis which will provide pertinent information such as body fat percentage, muscle mass, hydration levels, visceral fat, and more. We will discuss your current health profile focused on past experiences with weight changes, health ailments, medications, and goals. This is where we get to know you as a person and create a customized plan. While we will never suggest you stop taking any medications or going against what your physician advises, our program can generate positive metabolic shifts in your body. Open discussion with your doctor about your program progress can lead to a reduction in the need for certain medications (with the approval of your doctor).
Once the initial consultation is complete, we will create a personalized meal plan which will include nutrition education, portion sizes, recipes, shopping lists, and much more. The following weeks or months will involve weekly one-on-one coaching sessions to maintain accountability and implement strategies to stay on track until you achieve your goal. While nutrition is our focus, we understand the mental and emotional components to physical changes are just as important. We promote cognitive behavioral therapy sessions to maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep you on track throughout your program and beyond. Overall, our goal is to educate the individual so that they can leave our program and continue to live how they want with what they’ve learned. We strive to give individuals the tools they need to love themselves and love their lives.
